Sessions can take place in person at our two convenient locations in Denville and Mt. Arlington, NJ. We also offer telehealth services for those who prefer to have sessions remotely. Whether in person or virtually, we provide a confidential and supportive environment for your therapy sessions.

The frequency of your therapy sessions will depend on your individual needs and your therapist’s recommendations. Typically, clients meet with their therapist weekly or bi-weekly, but this can be adjusted as needed to fit your treatment goals and progress.

Yes, we offer a free 15-minute consultation over the phone. During this initial exchange, we’ll refer you to the therapist best suited to your individual needs. Finding the right therapist and building a strong therapeutic relationship are key to your success, and we welcome your feedback—both positive and negative—so we can continue to grow as clinicians and improve our services.

Your initial appointment will be an assessment session, lasting about 60 minutes. This allows us to better understand who you are, what your needs are, and whether we’re the right fit for you. Following appointments are typically 45-60 minutes long, depending on the discretion of the clinician.

Impact Health Counseling LLC is not a crisis center. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room immediately. You can also visit our Resources section for additional referral options.

Appointments are typically scheduled on a weekly basis, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferred time. We offer appointment reminders via text, email, or phone call to help you stay on track. In case of poor weather or unforeseen circumstances, we will contact you promptly to reschedule.

Our therapists block out your appointment time specifically for you. In order to be fair to other clients on the therapist’s schedule, session times must remain within the allocated appointment. Please arrive on time, as late arrivals will be charged for the full session even when the session is abbreviated.

We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice for appointment cancellations. If an appointment is missed without prior notice, a late cancellation fee of $100 will be applied. Any charges exceeding $300 will be discussed with you prior to processing your credit card on file. Our billing is managed by a specialized third-party company with extensive experience in mental health billing and insurance. Should you have any billing questions or concerns, please inform your therapist so we can address them promptly with our billing team.

Yes, we are committed to maintaining your privacy and confidentiality in our practice. We will provide you with a written confidentiality policy upon starting therapy, outlining our practices and any limitations to confidentiality. In certain situations, therapists may be required to share information without your written consent. This can occur if there is a risk of serious harm, such as plans to attempt suicide or harm someone else, or if there is ongoing abuse or neglect of children, the elderly, or people with disabilities. Additionally, therapists may be required to release information if ordered by a court.
